Ever wonder what happens behind the scenes at Yoga Heights? Here’s some of the things we’re learning about, been doing, and creating. 

What we’re learning:

Good health is important. It keeps us, well, healthy. There are any number of ways our fitness has been measured over the years, heart rate, BMI, body temperature, among others. Check out this fascinating article in The Atlantic about the about the power of the push-up.

Did you know Rosa Parks did yoga? The Association of Black Women Historians highlights Parks’ yoga practice as part of a blog post examining the crucial importance of Culturally Competent Mental Health Services. Rosa Parks learned yoga in 1965 (at age 52) and went on to demonstrate poses at events related to her public health advocacy.

Sure, October seems a long way off. But we are getting pumped about the launch of the Yoga Heights 300 Hour Teacher Training. Not to mention the 200 Hour Teacher Training. Early bird pricing is available through July 31.

What we’re up to:

We’re filming the Ashtanga Primary Series this week with our Mysore Program teacher, Whitney Paterson. She’ll go through traditional sequencing, as well as modifications.
