Yoga Heights is made up of many fascinating people.  We are excited to introduce you to them one by one via the blog!Meet Andrew who lives and works near the Georgia Ave. studio...as the owner of Timber Pizza! Read on to learn more about him.Yoga Heights: Why do you practice yoga?Andrew: It makes me feel better. Much better. Physically and mentally. I started going yoga in 2011 because my back was bothering me after too much basketball, but since then it has morphed into much more. When I am doing yoga regularly I sleep better, am less anxious, my back hurts less, and I am better at basketball!YH: Tell us about your first experience at Yoga Heights.A: Yoga Heights is such a calming place. I remember the first time I walked in, I just knew this was going to be my go to “get my head on straight” place. No matter what class I take, the energy and vibe at Yoga Heights is always just what I need.YH: What classes do you go to at YH and why?A: I usually go to All Levels Flow. I love Michelle Mae and her classes. I have recently been checking out Jessica Gruber’s class. Both of them have a great energy and their classes are creative and fun. Always what the mind and body need!YH: What do you do when you're not on the mat?A: Owner of Timber Pizza! So making or eating pizza. Owning a small business is incredible and rewarding, but also stressful AF! Hence, Yoga Heights in my life!YH: Where did you grow up?A: I grew up in Mt. Pleasant in Washington DC. Pretty awesome being back home and watching all the cool stuff that is happening around town.YH: What neighborhood do you live in now? People love to know about their neighbors!A: I live in Petworth! Right across the street from Timber. Petworth is the bomb! It really feels like a neighborhood, I have lived here for two years and love that I am starting to recognize all the faces (and people actually smile and say hi when you see them on the street!). I believe that there is a lot more to come in Petworth, so I am excited to live here.
