Stretching & Strengthening Your Hips

This workshop is ideal for students who are looking to learn more and do a deep dive into the hips. Students will learn about hip movements (internal | external rotation of the hips) and how this is applied in different yoga poses. We will then do a deep dive into various poses that stretch and strengthen (and increase mobility) in the hips. Many poses focus on external hip rotation (not opening the hip!), and we will also cover internal hip rotation. 

Students will leave the workshop with a deeper understanding of how to progressively work into yoga poses that require a lot of the hips. Students will also learn some exercises to strengthen the muscles around the hip joint and various stretches to ease these muscle groups.

As we will cover multiple stretches, I hope that students can determine which ones feel best in their body and apply this in their future practice!

It would be ideal to have a block or another prop, like a book or a barre ball, to use instead of a block.  Besides a yoga mat, you're also welcome to have a notepad if you'd like to take some notes.
